Helios® Public Safety equipment helps to extend the coverage of Public Safety and Critical secure Communications Networks. Helios offers complete and integrated solutions for TETRA, DMR, PMR, P25 and LTE Networks to ensure coverage of major public infrastructure; such as police stations, garages, power plants, exhibition halls, airports, sports arenas, road and rail tunnels, hotels, convention centers, shopping malls, office towers, parking lots etc.

Helios® Analog Multi-Band Optical Transport System (M-DOTS) is designed to integrate multi-band systems and extend the public safety coverage into large Public Venues, such as Hospitals, Hotels, Shopping Malls, Office Buildings, long Tunnels sections and large area outdoor coverage.

The Master Unit (MU) will include the POI Unit, Main Optical Unit and Optional Extension Optical Units. The Main Optical Unit includes a Control Unit, 8-way Divider, Power Supply Unit, Redundant “Hot Swap” Power Supply Unit and Analog RF to Optical Convertor Unit. This System will handle up to 8 Remote Units in a Star Architecture. The Optional Extension Optical Units will include the same modules as the Main Optical Unit and can connect to the Main Optical Unit for one common Control and Alarm GUI.
A fully configured System can include up to 32 Remote Units.

It is a cost-effective and intelligent solution that can be used in cases when optical master unit and remote unit are not located close to each other. In the downlink, OMU pick up the Multi-Band Base Station signal and convert analog signal to optical signal, then transport by optical fiber. In RU, analog signal will be changed back to RF signal and then amplified by the high power and high linearity amplifier (HPA), and output to the coverage area.
