Multi-bands Modular Repeaters

Telecom operators have to handle multi systems simultaneously and face the problem of re-farming spectrum resources in the future. With traditional Multi Band RF Repeaters, many manufacturers adopt all-in-one integrated architectures. This makes it difficult to easily upgrade in case of frequency re-farming or adding new technologies in the future, wasting Operator investments.

For the reasons mentioned above, Helios developed the CardMUX™ Series Digital Multi Band Repeaters to resolve such issues. It provides a Digital Firmware-based platform and enables on-the-fly filter changes/upgrades by software without expensive hardware upgrades. It supports both multi sub-band selective and/or channel selective functions. It supports upgrading from Single Band to Dual Band/Tri Band/Quad Band and even Penta Band by easily adding RF Cards.

Intelligent Interference Cancellation

HELIOS® Digital Off-Air Repeaters include a Panted ICS (Interference Cancellation System) Feature. It measures the Isolation between Donor and Service Antennas and intelligent cancel the interference in real time. With ICS function, it prevents self-oscillation, enhance gain and coverage range and reduce isolation requirement between Donor Antenna and Services Antenna.

Intelligent Solution for UL Interference

HELIOS® Digital Repeaters detect Uplink activity and support muting. This means that when there is no activity in the Uplink, the Uplink is automatically closed in FPGA to prevent Uplink transmission from the Repeater to the BTS. When a call (voice or data) is made, the UL Squelch Algorithm activates the Repeater Uplink Channel. Automatic UL Gain adjustment according to the Downlink gain will also minimum the UL interference to the BTS.

The Repeater is connected via coaxial cable to Donor Antenna and Service Antenna, Donor Antenna is placed outside the building where it has easy access to a BTS signal, and the Service Antenna or DAS is placed in the building where it can extend radio coverage to the blind area.
